Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance, met here today with International Monetary Fund's Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn currently visiting the Kingdom to participate in the Joint meeting between members of the Economic and Financial Cooperation Committee and the Committee of Governors of Monetary institutions and central banks in the GCC. The meeting discussed developments in the global economy and expectations of growth in the coming period, recent developments in global financial markets and the IMF's relationship with countries in the region and ways of strengthening them and IMF's vision of global economic prospects particularly economic developments in the region, including the economies of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for Economic Affairs Dr. Hamad bin Sulaiman Albazei and the Executive Director of the Kingdom at IMF, Dr. Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Alazzaz.
