A teenage girl died after a car was caught in raging floods in Wales late Friday as heavy rainfall and strong winds caused flooding and severe disruption across in southern Britain, reported dpa. Police said the 17-year-old died in hospital while two people with her survived but suffered hypothermia after their car rolled over into a swollen river near the remote mid-Wales village of Powys. The Atlantic weather front swept across the valleys of southern Wales, leaving streets and homes flooded and drivers stranded in their vehicles. Forecasters said some areas in south-west England would experience the equivalent of more than two weeks of rainfall in 24 hours. Severe weather warnings and flood alerts have been issued across Wales and the south-west of England. There have also been heavy rainfalls in Scotland in northern England.
