Morocco will shift to regular GMT time by September 1st, 2008, a communiqué of the Moroccan Ministry in charge of modernizing Public sectors announced yesterday. Morocco shifted to daylight time (GMT +1) as of July 27. The decision of pushing the clock ahead one hour was meant to alleviate the impact of the soaring energy bill of the North African country and save energy, Morocco's news agency "Maghreb Arabe Press" reported.
