The Indonesian and Thai consulates general in Sydney organized a charity night on August 16 to help alleviate the financial burden of Myanmarese who fell victim to last May's cyclone Nargis, ANTARA reported. "This is the first-ever cooperation between the two consulates general," the minister counselor for information, social and cultural function at the Indonesian consulate general in Sydney, Pratito Soeharjo, said on Monday. Nearly 400 Australian businessmen, Indonesian and Thai nationals attended the event which presented a wide range of Indonesian and Thai art and cultural performances. "We will donate the funds raised from the event to Myanmar," Pratito said. At least 78,000 people were killed and 56,000 others went missing after the cyclone Nargis devastated parts of Myanmar last May.
