There will be a partial eclipse of the moon this evening, starting around 10.36pm, Qatari astronomer Dr Khalid Abdullah Turki al Subaie said yesterday. Dr al-Subaie said the eclipse would reach its extreme by midnight to end at 1.45am tomorrow. It would be visible from the Middle East, Europe, West Asia and Africa, he was quoted as saying by Qatar News Agency "QNA". In a lunar eclipse, the sun, earth and moon are directly aligned as the moon swings into the cone of shadow cast by our planet.
