United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon has commended Morocco's action in favor of dialogue among civilizations, calling upon the Assilah forum to enhance the efforts of the United Nations for a world of dialogue, peace and prosperity, Magreb Arabe Press reported today. Ban Ki-Moon sent a message to the participants in the symposium on "United Nations system reform and South-South cooperation prospects" which is in progress, as part of the 23rd session of the Moatamid Ibn Al-Abbad Summer University, organized by the Assilah Forum Foundation within the framework of the 30th International Cultural Festival of Assilah. The message was read by the coordinator of the UN office in Rabat, Mourad Wahba. Tackling the symposium theme, Ban Ki-moon said South-South cooperation is already established as a mode of intervention of the United Nations, adding that the current trend is to develop a triangular cooperation. “We want a reliable, effective and much more transparent United Nations,” he said, adding that the goal is to achieve a “more just and prosperous” world.
