The number of newcomers to Yemen has decreased during the first half of 2008 to 178,230 compared with 181,637 at the same period in 2007 and 179,754 visitors in 2006, Saba quoted a report published by Tourism Ministry as saying. Tourism Minister Nabil al-Faqih described the investment movement in the country as a good though the events in the country which has negative effects on the investment environment. He also confirmed the necessity of intensifying promotion campaign for the Yemeni tourism products. Tourism Promotion Council set up the budget for 2009 as well as its plan for next tourism season which would include a number of participation in the international exhibitions and implement investment promotion program.
