The United States is to abolish visas for Czech travellers by November 15 at the latest, Hospodarske Noviny daily reported Friday, citing a US official. The report said that visas for Czechs could be cancelled after US authorities establish the Czech Republic's rate of rejected visa applications in fiscal year 2008, which ends September 30, according to DPA. "I suppose it will be between mid-October and November 15," the report cited US Homeland Security Department Assistant Secretary Richard C. Barth as saying. Countries are required to have less than 10 per cent of visa applications rejected in order to qualify for visa-free travel to the US.
