Razi from the 12th Century. There are manuscripts from Sunnah (the Prophet's traditions), law, mysticism as well as scientific and medical books. In addition, there are works of heritage poetry and prose. The University of Leipzig has approximately 3,200 Oriental writings about Islam in many languages inclusive of Arabic, Persian and Ottoman in its unusually rich stock. The exhibition is organized by the German Foreign Ministry and will be open for visitors until September 27. It displays nearly 800 manuscripts.
