Turkmen President Gurbanguly Bedrymukhamedov and Croatian President Stipe Mesic, who is on an official two-day visit here, on Tuesday expressed great interest to establish an active political dialogue and full-scale partnership, Itar-Tass reported. In the joint communiqué signed at the conclusion of the first round of talks on Tuesday, the two leaders underscored the willingness of the two sides to cooperate in the fuel and energy sector, industry, transport, communication and telecommunication, trade and tourism, the Turkmen government press service said. The bilateral meeting on Tuesday resulted in an agreement on bilateral cooperation between the Turkmen chamber of commerce and the Croatian chamber of economy and a protocol on cooperation between the Turkmen and Croatian ministries of foreign affairs. Besides, the Turkmen ministries of communication and railway transport signed protocols of intention with the Ericsson Nicola Tesla company. Speaking after the signing ceremony, Mesic said he had invited the Turkmen leader to pay an official visit to Croatia this year. Berdymukhamedov said about an agreement to hold first consultations on the foreign ministerial level in Ashgabat this year and fairs of goods in Ashgabat and Zagreb in 2009 and 2010.
