Dr. Abdurrahman Hamad Al-Atiyyah, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) commended today the consent of the Saudi Cabinet to implement the decision of the GCC Supreme Council, which was adopted at its 28th session held in Doha on December 3-4, 2007, as regards the implementation of the amended rules for the exercise of commercial activity in the areas of retail and wholesale trade. In a statement issued here earlier today, Al-Atiyyah expressed pride over the great efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and his brothers -- the leaders of the GCC to translate the decisions of the GCC Supreme Council into reality, reflecting the sincere determination to support the joint works of Member States and to push them ahead for further progress and prosperity. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
