Three people died and another 21 were injured in ammunition depot explosions in Kagan, central Uzbekistan, Itar-Tass quoted the Uzbek Emergencies Ministry as saying today. “A fire at the Uzbek Defense Ministry's military base set off a series of powerful explosions,” the source said. The affected area was cordoned off and local residents evacuated. Servicemen of the interior, defense and emergencies ministries are engaged to eliminate the effects of the fire and explosions. A special group is set up to investigate the accident.
