The Saudi surgical team in charge of the operation to separate the Moroccan twins at King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard performed today a mock surgery for the two female twins Al-Safa and Al-Marwah. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud paid for the transport of the Moroccan twins from Morocco to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and for separating them. The surgical team consisting of 12 surgeons and consultants led by the Executive Chief of Health Affairs of National Guard Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah discussed the stages of the surgery and the role of all the surgeons. Dr. Al-Rabeeah said in a press statement after the mock surgery that the surgery to separate the Moroccan twins is planned to begin at 7:00 o'clock on Saturday and will take 9 hours and consists of 7 stages. He pointed out that the preliminary tests showed that the surgery needs to be done as soon as possible and Al-Marwh suffers from heart problems which reduces the rate of success of the surgery to 60 %.
