Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has praised the major and positive role of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and said he has successfully attained great achievements and enabled the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to earn a good reputation at the international arena. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of the third anniversary for the ascendance to the throne by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Schroeder described the King as "the unique Arab and Muslim leader who the Muslims are in need of." He pointed out to his dynamic role as regards unifying ranks of the Muslims and his assistance to the Muslim countries. The former German Chancellor lauded the Saudi-German relations and described them as "strong ties". He noted that the visit of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to Berlin in 2001 and his recent visit in 2007 provide a clear evidence of the strength of the Saudi- German relations. Underlining the importance of further cementing Saudi-German relations, Schroeder said most of the German politicians look for strong relations with the Kingdom in all domains. --MORE
