German Minister of Education and Research Annette Schavan discussed Monday with Jordanian officials the prospects of boosting bilateral cooperation in the spheres of higher education and scientific research, according to dpa. Schavan held a meeting with Jordanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Omar Shdeifat, who praised the bilateral cooperation existing between the two countries in the field of higher education, particularly the training of Jordanian university students at German institutions, an official statement said. Shdeifat "underscored the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of scientific research particularly in the sphere of energy, environment and water and the impact of this cooperation on Jordan's economy and resources," it added.
