Lots to determine Asia's two soccer groups competing for the finals of the world cup in South Africa 2010 were cast in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur today. According to the draw, group A includes in addition to the Saudi team, South Korea, Iran, United Arab Emirates and North Korea while group B includes Australia, Japan, Qatar, Bahrain and Uzbekistan. The qualifying matches will be played on the home-and-away system from September 6, 2008 to June 17, 2009. The top and runner-up of each group directly qualify for the finals while the teams finishing third in each group will meet together with the winner to meet with the champion of Oceania to determine who will else proceed to the World Cup in South Africa 2010 as Asia's fifth representative.
