Floods have inundated hundreds of hectares of rice fields in several villages in Lore Utara sub district, Poso District, Central Sulawesi Province, over the past week, ANTARA reported. The flooding followed incessant rains which had caused rivers in Lore Utara sub district to burst their banks, according to Markus (54), a local farmer, here on Tuesday. Around 300 hectares of rice fields were submerged by the floodwaters, Markus said. Tens of hectares of plantation areas were also inundated.
