Basle is running out of accommodation space as a large number of Dutch and Russian fans won't be able to sleep in the city hosting the Euro 2008 quarter-final between the two nations, according to dpa. Hanspeter Weisshaupt from the local organizing committee said on Thursday that neither all 100,000 Dutch nor all 10,000 Russians expected in the city would find a bed there for Saturday's match. "The Russians represent a particular challenge for us," Weisshaupt told reporters, saying they expected fairly high standards and Basle lacked rooms at the luxury end of the market. Around 7,000 Russians have a ticket for the match at St Jacob's Park but many fans would have to try their luck in neighbouring cities such as Zurich, Lucerne or Fribourg. The majority of the Dutch were likely to head back to their fan camps around Berne, Weisshaupt said.
