Uganda organized here on Wednesday in coordination with Organization of Islamic Conference a ceremony of signing the new charter of the Organization on the sidelines of meetings of 35th Session of Council of Foreign Ministers of Organization of Islamic Conference. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was invited as a first signatory to this charter in recognition of its efforts to putting the new charter. The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani signed the charter as representative of the Kingdom. Also, the charter was signed by many member countries of the Organization. The signing ceremony was coincided with the order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to provide Muslims in Uganda with 3,000 copies of the different versions of the Holy Quran in addition to quantities of carpets to mosques of Ugandan capital, Kampala.
