Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez discussed the world's food, energy and financial crises during a private three-hour meeting with Cuba's Fidel Castro, state media reported Tuesday. Castro gave Chavez a copy of a new book called «Fidel, Bolivia and Something More, » about the former Cuban President's relationship with the Andean nation, according to a report of the Associated Press. Later Monday, Chavez and President Raul Castro, Fidel's younger brother, «conversed animatedly about various subjects.» Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage and Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque greeted Chavez upon his arrival in Havana on Monday afternoon. «It is a difficult moment in the world,» Chavez told reporters at the airport. «But fortunately, the Cuban revolution that is about to complete a half-century, and the Venezuelan (revolution) that is about to complete 10 years, have been becoming brothers and uniting forces. » Chavez said the two nations would help «ensure life and security to our people. »
