An official says landslides and house collapses caused by heavy rains have killed at least 14 people and injured more than 50 others in India's remote northeast. Government official Bidol Tayeng says rescue workers recovered 14 bodies Saturday after two days of heavy rains lashed areas around Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh state. Tayeng says the death toll is likely rise as rescue efforts continue. Monsoon rains usually hit India from June to September, the Associated Press reported.
