The United States economy grew by 0.9 per cent in the first three months of the year, according to a revised government estimate issued Thursday, according to dpa. The quarterly gross domestic product figure was revised upward from an estimate of 0.6 per cent made in late April. Some economists had predicted the world's largest economy had entered a recession in 2008.
