U.S. Stocks ended the week down again, capping a week when Wall Street mostly saw losses. The Dow Jones industrials fell nearly 150 points on Friday, the last trading day before a three-day Memorial Day weekend. Investors fear the soaring cost of oil, with its consequences for prices at the pump, will take a toll on consumer spending. According to preliminary calculations, the Dow fell 145.99, or 1.16 percent, to 12,479.63. Broader stock indicators also declined. The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 18.42, or 1.32 percent, to 1,375.93, and the Nasdaq composite index fell 19.91, or 0.81 percent, to 2,444.67. For the week, the Dow is down 3.91 percent, the S&P 500 lost 3.47 percent and the Nasdaq dropped 3.33 percent. The New York Stock Exchange composite fell 117.57 to 9,315.78, while the American Stock Exchange fell 12.30 to 2,371.55. The price of a barrel of light, sweet crude oil for June delivery rose $1.38 to $132.19.
