A small aircraft carrying mail crashed into a Montana building early Friday, causing an explosion that killed the pilot. The plane crashed into a construction materials building shortly after taking off from Billings Logan International Airport, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus. The building and the plane were destroyed by the blaze, Fergus said. Fire officials confirmed the pilot's body was found in the wreckage. Mail from the plane was reportedly scattered over a two mile distance. Airport fire Chief Michael Glancy told reporters that at least 300 gallons of jet fuel spilled in the crash, creating puddles that caught fire.
