The Saudi non-petroleum exports increased during last march by 57 percent compared to March last year amounting to SR 10, 947 million from SR 6,974 million in March 2007. According to a report issued by the department of general statistic and information, the petrochemical commodities topped the list of the exports, followed by plastics and ordinary metals and their products, and the re-exported commodities. As regards imports, the report said the total value of the Kingdom's imports in last march jumped by 34 percent to SR 32, 600 million from SR 26, 243 million in March 2007. The GCC member states constituted the most important groups to which the Kingdom exported last March; they are followed by the non-Arab and non-Muslim Asian countries and the Arab countries. The US topped the list of the countries from which the Kingdom imported last March, followed by Japan and Germany. The Kingdom's non-petroleum exports to the GCC member states increased in last March by 27 percent to SR2, 723 million from SR 2,152 million in March 2007.
