At least nine including a US-led coalition soldier were killed in separate clashes and attacks in Afghanistan, while Taliban militants claimed to have shot at a NATO helicopter in the country's south but caused no injuries, officials said on Sunday, according to dpa. A coalition soldier and an Afghan civilian were killed and another foreign soldier was "seriously wounded" Sunday in roadside attack in southern Zabul province, US military said in a statement. The blast occurred when a military vehicle was struck by a roadside mine, the statement said, but did not disclose the nationality of the dead and wounded soldiers. In southern Ghazni province, two policemen and three Taliban fighters were killed on Saturday in two separate clashes between the Taliban insurgents and police forces in Gilan and Qara Bagh districts of the province, Mohammad Zaman Zazai, deputy provincial police chief said. In another incident two army soldiers were killed and many wounded when the vehicle they were travelling in was struck by a roadside bomb in southern Helmand province on Saturday, the Defence Ministry said in a statement.
