Six nations involved in attempting to persuade Iran to halt uranium production have completed the details of a “refreshed” offer to be presented to Tehran, the State Department said on Friday. Department spokesman Sean McCormack confirmed that the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China have finalized their negotiations on a new deal. “We have completed work on the details of the package and the accompanying letter, " he told reporters. The European Union's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, will contact the Iranian government to “work on a date and venue for a meeting where representatives … can hand over and discuss this refreshed package,” he said. While the United States will be part of the offer, no U.S. representative will attend any meetings, McCormack said. “We are not going to have a physical presence here.”
