A police chief says Afghan and foreign troops have killed three militants in eastern Afghanistan, AP reported. Gen. Mohammad Ayub says the joint forces attacked the insurgents as they were planting roadside bombs before dawn Friday in Sabari district of Khost province. Ayub is the province's police chief. Ayub says the brief gun battle left two militants dead. Another wounded insurgent later died at a military hospital. Ayub says Afghan and foreign forces were attacked in another incident during a patrol early Friday in Nadir Shah Kot district.
