Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, received here today representative of the UNICEF to the Gulf Countries, Ayman Abu Laban, who expressed to the Prince appreciation of the UNICEF for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts and support for the UN organization's humanitarian activities under directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince through programs and projects implemented by Saudi relief committees under supervision of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, in collaboration with the UNICEF in Lebanon and Palestine with a total cost of more than SR 30 million. The projects included supply of measles and mumps vaccines, supply of school bags, provision of medical dispensaries and clinics, securing of drinking water and supporting students of Palestine with a total cost of SR 21,843,750 and implementing development, health and education programs in Lebanon with a total cost of SR 8,340,000 and distribution of school bags which have benefited 320,000 students. Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz thanked the representative of the UNICEF to the Gulf Countries for his noble feelings and appreciation. Prince Naif stressed the keenness of the Kingdom's leaders and people to help the afflicted and the needy people everywhere in all times emanating from its noble Islamic principles and genuine values, also emphasizing the importance of cooperation between relief committees and the United Nations with all its various branches and committees in the framework of the Kingdom's keenness to deliver aid to their beneficiaries swiftly and directly. The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Saed Al-Orabi Al-Harethi.
