Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) has announced that it will float effective from Monday a new metal Coin of the value of One Riyal, minted in 1429 AH in the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. A statement issued here today by SAMA said the face of the new coin will have a golden color with the emblem of Two swords and the palm tree, the margin will have a silver color with the phrase 'The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.' The back side of the coin will have a golden color. The phrase "One riyal' will be written in Arabic, while the margin will have a silver color, with the phrase of 'One Hundred Halala' on the upper part, and in the lower part the year of minting of the coin (1429 AH) will be written. On the right side (100) will be written while on the left side (100) will also be written. This new coin will be available at all SAMA's branches effective from Monday (7/5/1429 AH, corresponding to 12/05/2008). This new coin will be circulated besides other metal coins. It is worth mentioning that SAMA floated in 1428 AH the new metal coin of 50 Halala, which was minted in the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
