United Nations (U.N.) Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on Tuesday honored the memory of chemical warfare victims by calling on member states to eliminate all chemical weapons by 29 April 2012. “All States Parties to the Convention have an obligation to destroy existing chemical weapons stockpiles by 29 April 2012, " Ban said in a statement. “I call upon all possessor States to complete their destruction according to the agreed deadlines,” he added. The U.N. chief said member states that eliminate their chemical weapons would honor the victims lost to them.
