Turkey's military says its warplanes and artillery units have struck Kurdish rebel positions in Northern Iraq. The military says it targeted rebels who were trying to Infiltrate into Turkey, in northern Iraq's Zap, Avasin-Basyan and Hakurk regions. The areas, which are close to the border with Turkey, were hit on Friday and early Saturday. All planes returned safely to their bases, the military said in a brief statement Saturday, according to a report of the Associated Press.
