Prince Dr. Naif bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz headed the delegation of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meetings of U.N. Disarmament Commission concluded here on Thursday. During meetings with the Commission's Chairman and Ambassador of Benin; ambassadors of the Arab Group; Chairman of Non-Aligned Group and Group of 77 and China and some ambassadors accredited to the United Nations, the Prince emphasized the importance of making the Middle East region free of nuclear and mass destruction weapons. Prince Dr. Naif bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz also stressed the importance of applying international legitimacy and committing to its resolutions on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons by all countries in the region without exception including Israel. He called for addressing the Iranian nuclear problem by peaceful diplomatic means, also demanding the region's right to peaceful use of nuclear energy in accordance with the standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
