Philippine share prices dropped 2.32 per cent on Friday as investors stayed safe amid continuing uncertainties in the global economy, according to dpa. The Philippine Stock Exchange's 30-share composite index lost 66.09 points to close at 2,777.93 from Thursday's finish of 2,844.02. A total of 1.96 billion shares valued at 1.85 billion pesos (44.04 million dollars) were traded. Losers outpaced gainers 77 to 24, while 59 issues were unchanged. Reports that several financial institutions have downgraded their forecasts for the Philippine economy have also dragged down the market.
