The Fourth International Conference on Psychiatry, organized by the Jeddah-based Al-Amal hospital ended here today its deliberations. The Conference was held under the auspices of the Saudi-German hospital in cooperation with the Saudi Psychiatric Association, the Arab-British Psychological Association, the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) and the Egyptian Psychiatric Association. The Conference focused on promotion of services pertaining to medicine for psychological disorders. A number of Psychologists from the Royal University in England, and other European and American universities as well as from the Egyptian and Arab universities in addition to psychologists from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attended the conference. Head of the Saudi Psychiatric Association Dr Mehdi Abu Madani expressed happiness over convening the conference in Saudi Arabia. The recommendations adopted by the Conference included giving more attention to training of persons working in the field of psychological medicine, fighting drugs, giving attention to the problems of children and women, advocating good social habits and launching awareness programs.
