A Russian space official says the Soyuz capsule carrying South Korea's first astronaut has landed in northern Kazakhstan. The Russian TMA-11 craft touched down around 8:30 GMT after a 3 1/2-hour, bone-rattling descent from the international space station. Russian Mission Control spokesman Valery Lyndin said Searchers witnessed Saturday's landing and were en route to the site, the Associated Press reported. On board the capsule is Yi So-yeon, a bioengineer who is South Korea's first astronaut. Also making the descent was American astronaut Peggy Whitson and Russian flight engineer Yuri Malenchenko. The two of them spent roughly six months performing experiments and maintaining the orbiting station.
