More than 100 countries, including a number of Arab countries, will participate in the 3-day Book Fair. Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, expressed happiness over the participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this Book Fair. Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf expressed appreciation for the role of the British Cultural Council in cementing cultural understanding between Saudi Arabia and Britain. The Ministry of Higher Education, Saudi Universities, publishing and distribution houses in the Kingdom will participate in the Book Fair. There will be a special pavilion for displaying the latest Saudi publications. The Arab activities at the Book Fair will be open by Arab League's Secretary General Amr Mousa. The Arab world will be the honorary guest of the Book Fair this year. The British Council, in cooperation with London International Book Fair will organize a cultural program with the participation of more than 40 writers and critics who are concerned with publication of Arabic books. The writers and critics will shed light on the Arab literature. These seminars, which aim at enhancing relations with the Arab world, will review the modern trends in the contemporary Arabic literature.
