Security officials say at least nine Egyptian photojournalists and cameramen have been detained in a northern city where economic riots erupted earlier this week, according to AP. Amnesty International said Friday it was disturbed by the killings of two Egyptians during the rioting in Mahalla el-Kobra and the arrests of pro-democracy activists in the aftermath of the unrest sparked by rising food prices. The journalists arrested were apparently in Mahalla to cover a visit by a group of professors and activists who came to express solidarity with residents.
