Yemen and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) have signed an agreement for hosting the ESCWA 25th round in Sana'a on 26-29 May, SABA reported. The agreement was signed by Yemen's ambassador to Lebanon Faisal Abu Ras and the ESCWA executive secretary Badr Omer al-Dafa in Lebanon's capital Beirut. Al-Dafa said selecting Yemen to be the venue for the round comes in response to an invitation from the Yemeni government, affirming this doesn't break the UN rules. Abu Ras said the first meeting of the ESCWA in Yemen was held 20 years ago, adding the next meeting will help push Yemen's accession into regional economies. Alongside the signing ceremony the two sides discussed ways to complete preparations for the round.
