At least 11 people were injured, including two children, in two separate blasts in Kathmandu and southern Nepal targeting election rallies, police said, according to DPA. In the southern Nepalese city of Birjung, about 90 kilometres south of the capital Kathmandu, a bomb went off near an election gathering of Nepali Congress Party injuring 10 people. The bomb was placed on a busy area of the city and most of those injured were passersby, the police said. Separately, a crude bomb injured one person in Kathmandu just ahead of the scheduled start of an election campaign programme of Nepali Congress Party. "Unknown assailants hurled the improvised explosive device at a busy public square in Baneshwor area of the city," the police office said. "The device was poorly made and caused little damage." Witnesses told Nepalese media that they saw unidentified men on motorcycle hurl the bomb and speed away. No group has yet claimed responsibility for either of the attacks. It was the fifth such blast in Kathmandu since Friday. Monday was the last day for electioneering ahead of Thursday's vote and all the parties were holding final campaign rallies.
