A plane of the Chinese Air China carrier with the Olympic flame and a delegation of organizers of the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing on board landed at London's Heathrow Airport late on Saturday, Itar-Tass reported. The plane brought the flame from Russia's St. Petersburg, where the Russian stage of the world 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay ended earlier on Saturday. The relay route in St. Petersburg was 20.4 kilometers long. Each of the 80 torch relay runners carried the Olympic flame 250 meters. Participants in the relay were famous sportsmen of past years, well known Petersburg figure skaters and football players, promising youth representatives, Para-Olympic games participants and Russians who have achieved success in various areas of activities. Thousands of residents and guests of the city greeted the Olympic flame during the relay.
