Yemen registers the least rate of the HIV/AIDS-affected children among the world's countries, SABA reported. Director General of Family Health Division at the Ministry of Public Health and Population Ali al-Medhwahi stated that the authorities should take effective legal actions to restrict the spread of this epidemic among children. At a workshop on the approval of the national guideline for prevention of Mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV, al-Medhwahi pointed out the role of the international organizations in strengthening the anti-AIDS/HIV programs, setting up volunteer examination unites and providing medications as well as the issuing of the protective guide to limit the Mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The workshop was organized by the National Center for AIDS Control and Reproductive Health in cooperation with the UN Children's Fund UNICEF.
