The Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry will host a Forum on "Central Europe & Eastern New Economies Strategies with GCC States" in Manama, Bahrain, scheduled to start its three-day deliberations on April 8, 2008. The Forum is being organized by the Federation in association with Crans Montana Forum, United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and G.E.O.C France. Speaking on the occasion, Abdulrahim Hasan Naqi, the Federation's Secretary General said that the Forum is a significant event especially as it will highlight the latest economic strategies and policies, investment opportunities between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Arab Gulf states in various economic sectors of common interest mainly renewable energy , energy , natural resources, transportation , infrastructure, mining, oil ,gas, housing, telecommunications , information technology , tourism, public health, training and education in addition to trade and financial , banking and industrial services. He added that the participants of the Forum will discuss and exchange experiences in the common market and its role in activating the economic wheel coinciding with the Gulf Cooperation Council's plan to establish a Gulf common market and a unified Gulf currency in addition to the initiative of the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union.
