Consumer prices rose 0.4 per cent in February from the previous month, the same rate of increase in January, while annualized inflation fell, the Labor Department reported Friday, according to dpa. The department said the annual rate of inflation in February was measured at 4.0 per cent, compared with the 4.3 per cent rate reported for January. The easing of inflationary pressures could give the US Federal Reserve further room for lowering interest rates, analysts said in a first reaction ot the latest price data.
