Two doctors from the main hospital in Zimbabwean capital were killed and one seriously injured in a light aircraft crash on Wednesday, the official Herald reported Thursday, according to dpa. The PA 24 single-engined plane crashed on take-off from Charles Prince Airport in Harare, according to the report. Preliminary investigations showed the plane burst into flames when one of its wings touched the ground as it was taking off. The three doctors worked at Parirenyatwa hospital, which has been badly hit by drug and anaesthetic shortages and a staff exodus. They had been on their way to Seretse Khama University in neighbouring Botswana. The surviving doctor, Godwin Muchinda, was in a critical condition in hospital.
