Minister of Education Dr. Abdullah bin Salih Al-Obaid, who is Vice President of King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Gift and Creativity, patronized here yesterday Mawhibah (Gift) ceremony for scientific creativity and honoring of the winners of the first Saudi innovation exhibition. At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Al-Obaid delivered a speech in which he stressed the Kingdom's keenness on providing the means for the progress and advancement for its sons by working to keep abreast of developments that help them to meet the challenges and obstacles. He affirmed that this is embodied in the eighth development plan of the Kingdom through its fourth goal in the development of manpower, which is consistent with the current time as talent, creativity and innovation are the keys to dealing with the current time. He pointed out that the Foundation contributed to this framework by sponsoring talent and innovation to achieve the aspirations of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who is the Chairman of King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Gift and Creativity. The King announced at the outset of the Foundation's establishment that it will assist all brilliant and talented persons, direct and develop their innovations and to also achieve the aspirations of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General who said, "We continue our support for every Saudi invention which achieves a humanitarian service to our society". He congratulated the winners of the prize and thanked all national, regional and international bodies participating and supporting the exhibition, as well as participants from individuals. Also, he thanked Saudi Aramco company for its contribution to organizing the exhibition. After that, Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz delivered a speech over a closed-voiced circuit expressing her happiness over participating in this ceremony which is one of the most important forums to support innovation that serves development. She said that the great movement witnessed by the Kingdom under the leadership of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince in all aspects, particularly knowledge-based, scientific, research and innovation fields points to a more creative and brighter future for this nation.
