Three Romanian soldiers were wounded Wednesday in southern Afghanistan, the Romanian defense ministry said, according to AP. The troops were on patrol between Qalat and Kandahar when their armored personnel carrier drove over an improvised exploding device. The wounded soldiers were in stable condition at a hospital in Kandahar, and will continue their mission in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu said. There are currently 646 Romanian troops deployed in Afghanistan. Five Romanian soldiers have died and 20 have been wounded since the country first sent troops in 2002.
