A military helicopter crashed Tuesday while chasing cattle rustlers in the country's northeast, killing the pilot and wounding four others, an army spokesman said, according to AP. The gunship was on a mission to disarm rustlers in the Karamoja region, said Army spokesman Paddy Ankunda. He said the cause was being investigated. Karamoja is an impoverished, drought-ridden area along Uganda's northeast border with Kenya plagued by insecurity. It has been a trafficking point for small arms from war-ravaged Somalia. Many of these weapons are bought by cattle rustlers.
