At least four people were killed in a massive traffic accident Tuesday on a highway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, police officials said. Dozens of people were injured in the accident, which involved more than 50 vehicles, AP quoted the Abu Dhabi officials as saying. Police said thick fog was the cause of the accident, which took place during rush hour on the highway between the Emirates' two main cities. Authorities cordoned off the site of the accident, backing up traffic for miles, the officials added. Traffic in the Emirates has increased dramatically in recent years as the country's economy has boomed, especially in the city of Dubai, which has become the de facto business center of the Middle East.
