GCC higher education ministers will hold their 13th meeting in Kuwait on Wednesday. the ministers are scheduled to review a number of topics including the decisions adopted by the GCC Supreme Council at its meeting, held in Doha last December, which were pertaining to education. The decisions included the proposal of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz about the acceleration of performance of the march of the joint work, the Gulf common market as well as comprehensive development of education (projects and programs) and means for confronting the adverse impact of some information media on the new generation. They will also discuss issues pertaining to exchange of expertise and scholarships with Arab Maghreb, coordination of stands at the international forums as well as the outcome of the negotiations with New Zealand in the field of higher education. The meeting of the higher education ministers will be preceded by the preparatory meeting of the undersecretaries of the higher education and scientific research ministries in the GCC member states tomorrow in Kuwait.
